Sur-Faces

Sur-Faces
The Saint-Anne chapel, no longer used for religious purposes, was sold to the commune of La Baule-Escoublac on 9 November 1981. The former chapel is now an exhibition and concert hall, inaugurated on 2 December 1989 under the presidency of the deputy mayor Olivier Guichard.
In February and March 2024, the artists Yann Péron and Gérard Lusteau, like a jazz duo, will be playing out their respective pictorial scores on a number of generic subjects tackled together for the occasion: water and portraits. Each uses his own tempo, his own range, in a kind of creative exchange that sometimes leads to unexpected, complementary harmonic and chromatic grids.
It can be a difficult exercise: personalities can clash, even to the point of impasse. This time, without denying their very personal registers, Gérard Lusteau and Yann Péron bring out the underlying dialogue of their score, clearly supported by a longstanding complicity and friendship. The Studio's mission
Of Art Studio's primary mission is to preserve the essence of ephemeral exhibitions by creating an unforgettable experience. To realise this vision, we have joined forces to design an exceptional virtual tour, offering everyone the opportunity to discover the works of Yann Peron and Gerard Lusteau.
We have made this exhibition available online on the gallery's website, allowing anyone, anywhere to enter the unique world of the ‘Sur-Faces’ exhibition. Of Art Studio makes art accessible to everyone, everywhere, all the time.
Gérard Lusteau, with his precise sense of figuration and detail, explores line and colour through a technique inspired by the classical schools. Yann Péron, for his part, takes a more instinctive, freewheeling approach, navigating between watercolour and other media to capture the beauty of nature and the aquatic elements.
