Rétrospective

Rétrospective
The Bernard-Boesch Museum is located in Le Pouliguen and managed by the municipality of La Baule-Escoublac. In addition to the museum, an artists' residence is located just across the road, welcoming numerous local and international artists every year.
In spring 2024, the museum hosted a retrospective exhibition dedicated to the contemporary Mongolian artist Otgonbayar Ershuu, known as ‘OtGO’, born in Ulan-Bataor in 1981. OtGO studied fine arts in Ulan-Bator, the capital of Mongolia, and now lives in Germany. He exhibits all over the world.
This exhibition is rare and surprising because Mongolia, once populated by nomads and warriors, is little known to the West. It was by restoring Buddhist works in the monasteries, in the tradition of the lamas, that Otgo acquired the necessary techniques and iconographic knowledge, before freeing himself to express ecology and justice through a mixed technique of acrylic on canvas.

The Studio's mission
For this retrospective exhibition dedicated to the artist OtGO, we have collaborated to design an exceptional virtual tour. No matter where you are, you can discover the unique works created by OtGO between 1998 and 2024.
Available online, this exhibition offers an immersion into the fascinating world of the artist, who draws his inspiration from Mongolian traditions and the grandiose landscapes of Central Asia. Her work, while rooted in the heritage of nomadic art, transcends cultural boundaries to offer a cosmopolitan vision. At Of Art Studio, we are committed to making this art accessible to everyone, everywhere, at any time.
OtGO is sensitive to issues of justice, ecology and identity, and his paintings combine motifs inspired by Mongolian petroglyphs and traditional Buddhist art, which he has studied. His compositions, rich in colour and movement, offer an immersive experience in which each work tells a story that is both individual and collective.
