Film
This black-and-white film, shot in the remote natural landscapes of Taiwan, explores the beauty and tensions of the island. The striking contrasts between light and shadow, and the use of an aerial camera, create an eerie atmosphere. The camera, like a living creature, floats above the landscapes, then alights for a closer look. Director Grasso explains that his film aims to ‘create an altered state of consciousness, akin to hypnosis’. The film's music, a hypnotic melody accompanied by electronic sounds, reinforces the film's fascinating effect.
